This gripping true story of humanity and heroism follows a cross section of workers and hotel guests scrambling to survive the 2008 terrorist siege of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai.

Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) stars as a kitchen server with a new baby and wife at home watching the events unfold on TV, while Armie Hammer (Call Me by Your Name, Sorry to Bother You) and Nazanin Boniadi are a couple whose child is in danger many floors above. Rounding out the cast is acclaimed Indian actor Anupam Kher, who plays the hotel chef doubling as the leader of an internal resistance group and Jason Isaacs as a Russian businessman caught up in the mayhem.

First-time filmmaker Anthony Maras weaves these and other individual narratives — taken from hours of interviews he and screenwriter John Collee conducted with survivors — into a masterful tapestry of people drawn together in crisis.
