Shown as part of&nbsp;<b>Summer of Sondheim</b>, our series celebrating musical master and Williams alum Stephen Sondheim, presented with support from the '62 Center for Theatre and Dance. Each screening will feature an introduction about the musical by a local Sondheim scholar/fan with connections to Williams College, Williamstown, and/or Images Cinema.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><b>Original Cast Album: "Company"&nbsp;</b>will feature an introduction by Steve Wertimer, Williams alum, Sondheim superfan, and member of the Images Cinema Community Advisory Board.</div><div><br></div><div>Please note there is no food or beverage allowed in the '62 Center.</div><div><br></div><div>Film synopsis:</div></div><div>&nbsp;In 1970, right after the triumphant premiere of Stephen Sondheim’s groundbreaking concept musical Company, the renowned composer and lyricist, his director Harold Prince, the show’s stars, and a large pit orchestra all went into a Manhattan recording studio as part of a time-honored Broadway tradition: the making of the original cast album. What ensued was a marathon session in which, with the pressures of posterity and the coolly exacting Sondheim’s perfectionism hanging over them, all involved pushed themselves to the limit.</div>DocumentaryPT53MPG2026-07-01
