Curatorial statement:
On the list of Great Unsung Movies, Quick Change is aggravatingly high. It not only stars Bill Murray and Geena Davis and Randy Quaid in the peak of their stardoms, but it also bears the distinction of being the only movie Bill Murray has directed. Despite this, there are many who have never even heard of it let alone seen it, and when they finally do, their joy gives way to a palpable exasperation that they'd gone so long without this sublime comedy in their lives. It is our desire to anger the entire Williamstown community with this screening.
Film Synopsis:
With the aid of his girlfriend, Phyllis Potter, and best friend, Loomis, Grimm enters a Manhattan bank dressed as a clown, creates a hostage situation and executes a flawless robbery. The only thing left for the trio to do is make their getaway out of the city and to the airport. It sounds simple enough, but it seems that fate deserts them immediately after the bank heist. One mishap after another conspires to keep these robbers from reaching freedom.ComedyPT1H29MR2025-08-17Bill Murray
