Science on Screen®: After Yang (2021)
Science on Screen® at Images Cinema is made possible through a grant from the Coolidge Corner Theatre, with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
The subject of our 2023-24 season of Science on Screen® is A.I., and themes we will explore is how it is depicted as either embodied or disembodied, how it is gendered, racialized, or sexualized and how that helps humans integrate in domestic spaces, and much much more.
There will be a pre-film discussion, co-hosted by series co-curators and Williams College faculty Drs. Ezra Feldman and Tim Lebestky, with special guests from the fields of science and the humanities.
When his young daughter's beloved companion — an android named Yang — malfunctions, Jake searches for a way to repair him.
