<div><div>Presented as part of <b>Civic Cinema</b>, our biennial series on democracy and civic engagement. This year's films focus on journalism/freedom of the press, as well as stories of collective action. Each screening will be paired with a talk with local leaders, community organizers, and academics.</div><div><br></div><div>Our 2026 edition of this series is presented with generous support from The Ginny Fund, a grant organized by the Friends of the Milne Library.</div></div><div><br></div><div><div>Join us for a social hour before the movie in the lounge! From 6pm-7pm meet and mingle with grassroots organizers and community leaders.</div></div><div><br></div><div>Film synopsis:</div>New York-based independent investigative journalist Amy Goodman has been reporting from hotspots around the world for decades: from East Timor to Morocco, Nigeria, and Gaza, and closer to home during 9/11 and the Iraq War.
