After carefully monitoring vaccination and booster rates in Berkshire County, and analyzing safety measures being put in place at other independent community theaters, Images Cinema updated our COVID Safety Protocols. This system took effect on November 18, 2022.
The CDC’s ranking system is transparent and readily available for any Images patron to see how we are making our determination. The CDC provides those three rankings based on hospitalization rates per 100,000, and has common sense precautions to follow as cases rise and fall with the seasons and surges from new variants.
Images reviews CDC and Berkshire County public health data on Thursdays and updates accordingly on Fridays, should we decide to decrease or increase safety precautions. We will continue to keep masks available at the theater if you forget to bring your own. We will post clear signage at the theater to indicate which of the three tiers we are operating under that week, and update our website regularly.
Knowing that many in our community are unvaccinated, not up to date on their boosters, or are in other ways immunocompromised and/or coming into close contact with loved ones who are — we are reserving one day per week to ensure highest precautions, preserving access to our theater for all. Currently, all screenings on Sundays will be masks required for all guests. We are calling these “Safety Sundays”.
The fine print:
Images Cinema can seat 150 patrons when at 100% capacity. 50% capacity = 75 seats, 75% capacity = 112 seats. We do not oversell screenings; if a screening is sold out, please find another showtime that works for you.
Images Cinema does not currently require community members to show proof of vaccination or booster status to attend screenings. We will continue to monitor public health guidelines and industry best practices, and may revisit this should it be deemed necessary.
Our auditorium HVAC system has been upgraded with state of the art, hospital grade, needlepoint bipolar ionization technology. We also have professional-rated air purifiers in both the lobby and the bathroom.
Touchless hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the theater. Plexiglass barriers hang at the box office and the concession stand. High contact surfaces are cleaned throughout the day.
All staff are fully vaccinated. Before coming to work, staff self-check for any symptoms of COVID-19. If they display any, they inform the theater and do not come to work. If any staff has been in direct contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, they inform the theater and do not come to work until they have had an opportunity to get tested themselves.
Images Cinema reserves the right to enact this or similar plans to keep our community healthy should any other pandemic or endemic arise.
Images Cinema reserves the right to preemptively increase safety precautions by the next business day, should it be deemed necessary to help preserve the health of our community.
Should public health officials issue any complete or partial lockdowns of business activity due to COVID or any other future pandemic or endemic, Images will comply with said ordinances immediately.
As we enter this next phase of the pandemic together, we welcome audience questions and feedback; if you have any, please contact us at 413-458-1039 or [email protected].
