Williams College French Film Festival
Titled “Mothers, Sisters, Daughters: Family & Diversity in New French & Francophone Film,” this year’s Williams French Film Festival features recent films from France and Belgium that focus on a diverse spectrum of women in the French-speaking world. From new moms in Jean- Pierre & Luc Dardenne’s Young Mothers (2025), to queer love in Hafsia Herzi’s The Little Sister
(2025), to cultural identity in Davy Chou’s Return to Seoul (2022), these films examine the complexities of maternity & motherhood, queer sexuality & romance, adoption & self-discovery.

This festival is made possible with generous funding from the Williams Class of 1960 Scholars Program, and with assistance and support from the Department of Romance Languages, and the Center for Global Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. All films are in French with English subtitles, and are free and open to the public. The films will be introduced by French Professors Sophie Saint-Just and Brian Martin. Paresky Cinema is located on the lower level of the Paresky
Center, in the heart of the Williams College campus, in Williamstown, MA.
